LCD Module Manufacturers on Capacitive and Resistive Touch Screens

It’s hard to overstate the revolutionary nature of touchscreens. Not long ago, cellphone users had to press buttons endlessly to carry out commands. But these days, making a call, sending a text, pulling up email and even web browsing are all done with a simple tap of finger to screen.

Touchscreens are perhaps the pinnacle of user experience: if you need to access or activate something, simply touch it. This intuitiveness is perhaps the reason touchscreens are now ubiquitous. You find them not just on smartphones, but also on ATMs, car dashboards and even handheld consoles.

  1. Nowadays, gadgets are very important for us to be used in our daily tasks with a trusty tablet or smartphone nearby; but it doesn’t stop there! Touchscreens really are everywhere, in our home, cars, restaurants, stores, planes, and wherever you may go, these devices fill our lives in spaces public and private. But how will we know if what technology for each touchscreen is being used? In this blog, we learn from 2 touchscreen technologies that are commonly being used nowadays: the resistive and capacitive touchscreen. Resistive touchscreen has 2 layers separated by a small gap. To work on the screen you need to press it then the layers come closer together then the special coating layers touch to create an electric voltage. The electric voltage interprets it and produces corresponding response. Capacitive touchscreen displays depend on the electrical properties of the human fingertips to identify when and where on a display the user touches. Because of this, capacitive touchscreen displays can be manipulated with very light touches of a finger and usually cannot be used with a mechanical stylus or a gloved hand. We can click the link after the 2 paragraphs in the blog to read more about this topic.
